State DECA Conference

DECA students recently represented Atlanta High at the State DECA conference in San Antonio.  Over 4,400 students competed this year at state.  Only a few hundred were lucky enough to get on stage this year as a finalist.  This year we had 5 student from Atlanta get on stage - 3 qualifiers and 2 alternates.

Special congratulations goes to Wendy Medina, Andrew Hammonds, and Josiah Mendoza for getting 1st place in the Advertising Campaign event and will be heading to Anaheim, CA for International DECA competition!

DECA President, Hannah Seavey got on stage as a state finalist (and alternate for Internationals) as a sales representative in the Hospitality industry.  Hannah’s generosity and contribution to the AHS DECA program over the past 3 years has been profound.

Tyler Devault also got on stage as a state finalist (and alternate for Internationals).  Tyler gave a sales presentation in the Profession Selling category. 

Great job to all the students.  Atlanta ISD is proud of all of them.  Their passion and drive is inspirational.
