AHS Students Earn CNA Certification

Atlanta High School students enrolled in the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) program traveled to Carthage, Texas with Instructor Kara Gennings and successfully passed the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) written examination and hands-on skills evaluation on May 11th.  CNA's are vital members of the heath care team and the CNA program at Atlanta High School prepares students to give the highest quality of care in long term health facilities and hospitals. 

CNA's must be able to communicate and interact with patients and families and provide basic patient care safely and effectively.  

Students must complete 100 classroom hours and 40 clinical hours and complete The Texas Department of Aging and Disability (DADS) Curriculum.  Once course requirements are fulfilled, students must take the NNAAP examination which consists of a written evaluation and hands-on skills evaluation.
